CIGARETTE BEETLE (Lasioderma serricorne)

Cigarette Beetles, as the name suggests, are found everywhere tobacco products are stored. Cigarette Beetles, however, do not just hang out in tobacco products. They are also found in other stored products such as ground grain or seed, whole seeds, grains, rice, beans, pasta, spices, dried fruit, dried vegetables, yeast, dried fish, leather, wax and dried and processed plant materials!

Why we want them treated: They contaminate our goods, degrading the quality we work so hard to maintain. Plus they eat up the boxes we use for packaging! That’s additional unwanted expense!
