    AN INSPECTION

SILVERFISH (Lepisma saccharina)

Silverfish are carrot-shaped, wingless, punitive insects with three long bristles and are covered with silvery white scales. They prefer to stay in the dark and hide among piles of paper, bookshelves or in clothes in cabinets. They shun the light and make rapid darting movements when disturbed. They are identified as damp room pest and are seen in pantries, bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, etc.

Why we want them treated: Adult and young feed on starch and carbohydrate substance and damage clothes, books, bookbinding in the process. They also cause respiratory allergies caused by loosened silvery white scales.
